Bible Studies and Devotions
Adult Bible Studies
Pastor Lough is currently leading an adult Bible
study on Tuesday nights at 6:30 p.m. It meets each week with the exception of the first Tuesday of each month when
our congregation has its monthly potluck fellowship dinner. Co-Ed Christian Fellowship Some of the young adults in our congregation have started their own Bible Study group
called CCF (Co-Ed Christian Fellowship). The group is geared towards those aged 18 to 25 but is open to anyone that would like to attend. This group not
only holds regular Bible studies but is also involved in their own fundraising and service projects. If you are interested in finding out more,
please contact Brooke Hall or Justin Williams. You can also find out more about Young Adult ministries within the
United Methodist Church as a whole by visiting www.gbod.org/youngpeople/yanet. If you believe you
would be interested in serving as a Young Adult Leader (there's always room for more events and ministries involving young
adults in our church and community), visit the GBOD Young Adult Leaders web site for more information and ideas.
Teen Bible Study
Hey, Facebook Generation . . .
Currently, the adult Bible study is studying "The Shack" by William Young. It is a story of a man who, after suffering
great loss, is granted a meeting with God. Pastor Lough has plans to start a Discipleship I study in the fall.
You love leaving messages for each other, uploading crazy photos, sharing your interests, completing surveys, and you do
all of this in a strange language on the computer that your parents just don’t get. Have you ever thought about the fact
that God does understand you even when adults don’t? He has a message for you and He is LOL with you during the
good times and :-( when you’re down and confused. He wants you to share your blogs with Him and would love a comment from
you every once-in-awhile.
We currently offer a Teen Bible Study on Wednesday nights from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This is an opportunity for you to study the Bible more so that
you can learn what God has to say to you and grow in your faith and understanding. For more information, contact Kim Medley at 921-0456,
kkmedley@vt.edu, IM to vtwbbfan12, or
http://vt.facebook.com/profile.php?id=6227657.
We are currently studying topics concerning our attitudes, being a servant, and thinking and acting "outside of the box". Join us!!
