The Administrative Council currently meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Meetings begin with a
time of prayer and devotion in the Sanctuary. Any church member may attend but only those listed above may
vote on issues (with the exception of the Council Secretary).



Chairs and Coordinators should be in attendance or have a representative of his/her area to report to the
Council each month. Chairs and Coordinators may have meetings as they deem appropriate. The Nurture, Outreach,
and Witness Ministries all have budgets that they may use to implement their programs. Some funds are already
earmarked for certain areas (Camp Alta Mons Scholarship, Bible Bus, etc.) but other funds are available to be
used at each Chair/Coordinator's discretion for reasonable expenses. For more information about available funds,
contact Finance Chair, Lee Walker, or Treasurer, Kim Medley. Chairs and Coordinators have a mail box in the old
church office and should check it periodically for announcements and documents related to their committee work.

Child Protection

Perry Moretz (Chair), Monroe Blevins (2010), Sharon Farmer (Sunday School Representative), Sherry Gallo (Youth Group Representative), Patience Sheetz (2011) and Emily Walker (2009).

The Child Protection Committee assesses the current Child Protection Policy and recommends changes to
the Administrative Council as needed. This committee insures that those working with children and youth
have read the church's policies and procedures dealing with youth programs and that appropriate background
checks have been obtained for all those that lead ministries involving youth and teach classes made up
of minors.



Finance

Lee Walker (Chair), Reggie Britts (Administrative Council Chair), Debbie Caldwell (Memorial Funds Secretary), Kay Carlson (Building Fund Secretary), Sharon Farmer (Stewardship Chair), Gibby Lester (Ex-Officio), Kim Medley (Treasurer), and Jennifer Sullivan (Financial Secretary)

The Committee on Finance shall compile annually a complete budget for the local church and submit it to
the church council for review and adoption. The Commitee on Finance is responsible for developing and
implementing plans that will raise sufficient income to meet the budget adopted by the council. It shall
administer the funds received according to instructions from the council.

Specific duties include:
Handling the Counting and Depositing of Funds
Handling the Financial Record Keeping of Funds
Handling Disbursements of Funds
Preparing Recommendations for Raising Additional Revenues
Helps Establish Special Committees for Fundraisers (Apple Butter, Etc.)
Spring – Audit of All General, Building, and Special Funds for Previous Year Including Those of UMM, UMW, Youth, and Young Adult Checking Accounts
Late Summer/Early Fall - Preparing Budget Recommendations for Church Council

Lay Nominations & Leadership Development

Sheila Collins (2012), Brooke Hall (2012), Giles Lester (Ex-Officio), Mildred Ratcliff (2011), Jane Tabor (2010), Curtis Williams (2010), and Justin Williams (2011)

The purpose of this committee is to identify, develop, deploy, evaluate, and monitor Christian spiritual
leadership for the local congregation. The Pastor is actually the Chair of this committee and will schedule meetings as needed.

Specfiic duties include:
Late Summer/Early Fall - Consider and Recommend Individuals for Leadership Positions for the Upcoming Year
As Needed - Recruit for Committees if Vacancies Arise During the Year

Pastor-Parish Relations

Curtis Caldwell (Chair, 2012), Matt Hicks (2011), Giles Lester (Ex-Officio), Jennifer Lester (2011), Kim Medley (2010), Bryan Moretz (2012), and Pam Williams (2010)

General duties of the committee include:
1. encouraging, strengthening, nurturing, supporting, and respecting the pastor and staff
2. promoting unity in the church
3. conferring with and counseling the pastor on the matters pertaining to the effectiveness of ministry;
relationships with the congregation; conditions that may impede the effectiveness of ministry; and
interpreting the nature and function of the ministry
4. To enlist, interview, evaluate, review, and recommend annually to the charge conference lay preachers
and persons for candidacy for ordained ministry

Specific duties include:
January – Recommendation to District Regarding Clergy Leadership
Spring – Pastor Annual Evaluation
Late Summer/Early Fall – Prepare Salary Recommendation for Church Council
December – Assessment of Clergy Needs and Church’s Mission

Trustees

David Williams (Chair, 2012), Sandy Collins (2010), Nancy Falls (2011), Brett Farmer (2012), Ben Williams (2010), and Brenda Williams (2011)

The trustees have the supervision, oversight, and care of all real property owned by the local church
and of all property and equipment acquired directly by the local church. They shall review annually
the adequacy of the property,liability, and crime insurance coverage on church-owned property, buildings,
and equipment. The trustees also review annually the adequacy of personnel insurance.

This group will also handle current contracts and new bids for custodial services, lawn care, and snow removal.
The Trustees are also responsible for inspecting the building before and after non-church activities. The
Trustees normally meet on the first Thursday of each month.

While church members that reserve the facilities for activites that are not ministry related do not have to pay full fees, a $25 fee is now required to help defer the costs of utilities.



Nurture Ministries

Coordinator - Sharon Farmer

The Nurturing Ministries of the congregation shall give attention to but not to be limited to education,
worship, Christian formation, membership care, small groups, and stewardship. Attention must be given
to the needs of individuals and families of all ages. Various resources can be found at the UMC web site,

Outreach Ministries

Coordinator - Vacant

The Outreach Ministries of the church shall give attention to local and larger community ministries of compassion,
justice, and advocacy. These ministries include church and society, global ministries, higher education, and
campus ministry, health and welfare, Christian unity and interreligious concerns, religion and race, and the status
and role of women.



Witness Ministries

Coordinator - Sherry Gallo

The Witness Ministries of the church shall give attention to developing and strengthening evangelistic efforts
of sharing of personal and congregational stories of Christian experience, faith, and service; communications;
Lay Speaking Ministries; and other means that give expressions of witness for Jesus Christ.

Specific duties include:
Keeping Membership Records Up-To-Date
Public Relations to Include Newspaper, Internet, Bulletins, Etc.
Sam Robinson Apartment Ministry (w/ Upper Room)
Vacation Bible School
